1975 Bronco ICON 4×4 New School

1975 Bronco ICON 4×4 New School – ICON 4×4, the pioneering automotive design firm that started the automotive restomod movement and first perfected the modified Ford Bronco, proudly introduces the latest rendition from their iconic New School Edition Bronco line. Reimagined for the modern age, this all-new ICON Bronco is reconfigured to the highest degree for on-road performance and off-road formidability with an exterior that radiates unique style and aggressiveness. Completed with a high-quality 3M satin military green wrap and a stealthy two stage gloss green finish underneath, the revered and idolized classic sport utility vehicle is accented with a blacked-out powder coated trim running from the grill to the rear bumper and covering all exterior embellishments in between. The ICON New School line creatively reinvents the widely acclaimed Ford Bronco amid a saturated market dominated largely by period-correct traditionalist builders and pseudo-retro designers. The innovative New School style from ICON diverges from any semblance of traditionalism. Platformed on a 1975 Ford Bronco, the new ICON Bronco’s starkly modern aesthetic is synergized with the type of industry leading, high-performance modifications which landmarked the ICON 4×4 brand, Founder Jonathan Ward, and the term ‘restomod’ within the global automotive and aftermarket communities.

Founder Jonathan Ward explains, “The New School style has become a hallmark of ICON in and of itself because it’s designed for the person that absolutely, positively wants the most unique vehicle in town. If you’re living the coastal life that many restored Broncos are destined for, you’ll more than likely come across someone else driving one that looks just like yours, just with a different color scheme. With ICON, there won’t be another one in your state that looks anything like the one that you designed for yourself.” Ward continues, “ICON largely started by throwing the old way of restoring cars to factory condition out the window along with the original engine and outdated suspension. Back in the 1990s and early 2000s, everyone called our builds ‘kit cars’ and associated what we were doing with hot rodding. Our contribution to the culture was adding world-class craftsmanship, modern production efficiencies and processes, CAD based engineering and testing, and artistic appeal to the interiors and exterior designs of all of our Ford Broncos, Land Cruisers, and Thirftmasters along with a host of one-off custom builds. Since that time, many have tried to emulate what we’ve created but they’ll always and only just be imitations of the original.”

1975 Bronco ICON 4×4 New School Photos

The latest ICON New School BR started life as a 1975 Ford Bronco that now has been updated from stem to stern. For starters, a custom chassis with coil-over suspension all around, a powerful 5.0L V8 engine mated to a 5-speed Aisin & Warner AX15 manual transmission with an Atlas II twin stick, two-speed, shift-on-the-fly transfer Case for maximum control and versatility when on the open roads or climbing hills in the backcountry. The Mustang GT 5.0 V8 engine outputs a formidable 440 horsepower and 440 torque, while the proprietary chassis keeps it all under control, and the Brembo brakes match the go with proper whoa. The manually activated front and rear ARB locking differentials built within the Currie Industries ICON-specific Dana 44 high-pinion front axle assembly and Dana 60 high-pinion rear axle assembly add further control when off-road. The rubber finally meets the road with Standard Fair BF Goodrich All-Terrain K02 Tires and ICON New School Forged 18′ Aluminum rims with floating center caps and signature ICON lizard etchings.

The uniquely New School style of the ICON Bronco flows throughout the interior with the headliner covered in all-black Alcantara. Front and back seating is upholstered in matching black sueded leather with zero sheen to ensure a supple cabin experience with an added laying of durability for the more adventurous excursions. The front seats are integrated with carbon fiber seat heaters while the rear bench seating is foldable and fully removable for cargo versatility and to meet the demands of the ever changing paths ahead. Floor is lined with removable rubber-backed wool square weave carpeting lined in dynamat for soundproofing. Interior cargo door and door panels are laser cut stainless steel with powder coated volcanic black bezels along the dash. For security and convenience, all doors are integrated with power double tap windows and power door locks with factory style smoked glass for all side and rear windows contributing to the stern aura of the vehicle from inside and out. The climate control utilizes Vintage Air’s latest Gen 5 air conditioning system with anodized aluminum in-dash vents for superior comfort and minimal noticeability. Finally, the same Rosen Charcoal tinted Lexan shade sun visors as used on military aircraft are equipped to the windshield frame for visibility and contemporary style.

Attention to the lesser noticed details is something that places ICON far beyond the “good enough” approach of all others in the field. The New School Bronco includes machined ICON Everlast badges on all seating, Redoxx ICON branded recovering gear bag, and a rifle action Boker pen with ICON Lizard etchings affixed to the center console. Additionally, every custom ICON build is delivered with digital and printed versions of the owners manuals, content manuals, and all other instructions contained in a vegetable tanned leather bag from Jonathan Ward’s leather goods brand, J. Ward.

Commissions from ICON’s New School Bronco line start at $275,000 with numerous customizable options available to potential clients. For more information on the all-new 1975 ICON New School Bronco and their other builds please visit www.icon4x4.com or call 818-280-3333.
